Who can practice at Mello Yoga?
EVERYBODY is welcome, whether you’re tight or flexible. This practice is for anyone with an open mind and desire to learn. We encourage NEW students to yoga to start with our Gentle Flow classes as they spend more time in each pose and move slower between vinyasa (breath-to-movement) transitions. Ask your instructor for more tips when you show up for class. We are happy to help you on your journey and Mello Yoga is a very inclusive community — this is a judgement free zone!

Can I practice if I'm pregnant?
You can! You’re welcome to take any class, but please consult with your doctor before practicing and listen to what feels best for your body. Our studio is ideal for expecting mothers as we do not overtly heat the room and we host many Gentle Flow classes and Yin/Restorative classes that move slowly enough for you to adapt your practice in real-time. Many of our instructors are also mothers and all have been educated in pre-natal yoga modifications.
How do I book my classes?
To schedule classes with the most ease, download the Mind Body Online (MBO) for your device. Here are some direct links for Androids and iPhones directly — or go to the right App Store on your device to download directly.
Once you have an account on MBO, you can plan your classes in advance to save your spots in popular classes, commit to your weekly fitness goals, and stay organized!
What are the BENEFITS of Membership?
A monthly Mello Yoga studio membership can significantly enhance your wellness routine because it encourages consistent practice and leads to noticeable improvements in flexibility, balance, and strength. Regular yoga sessions can reduce stress and anxiety, promoting mental clarity and emotional well-being. Yoga studios often foster a sense of community, allowing you to connect with like-minded individuals while at the same time providing motivation and encouragement to stay committed to your fitness goals. Compared to pay-per-class options, a monthly membership often provides a more affordable way to practice regularly and opens you up to try unlimited classes, various styles, and even specialty workshops and programs at a discounted rate. Mello Yoga Members also get a discount on retail and can cancel anytime or pause for up to 2 months twice a calendar year.
I am a member, but cannot book my classes in advance. How come?
If you are a monthly auto-pay member, you have a billing cycle associated with the first payment date when you signed up for membership. If you are attempting to book beyond that cycle date, you will be limited. If you would like to unlock unlimited booking in advance and want to get an even better discount on your cost-per-class, consider signing up for our Annual Membership option for a one time yearly payment.
I am New to Yoga, where do I start?
Start with our intro package (unlimited and cost-effective!) so you can try as many class styles and instructors as your schedule allows. We advise brand-new yogis to begin with Gentle Flow and to converse with your instructor upon arrival. Please arrive early to sign into class, orient yourself in the studio, and share your fitness goals and background with your teacher so they can support you in recommending the right classes and teachers for where you are on your path. If you want to connect with one of our managers directly to learn more about how to accommodate your injury, illness, or special concerns, reach out to us at melloyogapoway@gmail.com
What if I'm late?
We strongly encourage arriving on time as it ensures the best practice for you, your fellow students, and your teacher. There is a five-minute grace window, but please make sure you’re dressed and ready to practice when you arrive. If you arrive after class has begun, please stay near the back, arrive quietly and check in after class with the teacher.
What is your Autopay Cancellation Policy?
Autopay membership cancellations are based on your billing cycle. Mello Yoga does not prorate months of membership.
In good standing, a Mello Yoga membership can be canceled at any time.
Mello Yoga Membership cancellation requests must be submitted before your next billing cycle.
What if I'm not that flexible?
Yoga promotes flexibility. You don’t have to be flexible to start doing yoga.
Do you offer private yoga?
Yes! Email melloyogaca@gmail.com to schedule.
What to bring?
Wear comfortable breathable clothes, and bring a yoga mat (we have a few spares), a towel, and a water bottle. Mello Yoga has cubbies for your belongings and we encourage you to put all distractions, including cell phones (on silent mode!) in the cubbies so that you can stay present for the duration of the class.
What to wear?
Wear appropriate athletic clothing that is comfortable and allows for free range of motion (i.e. tank tops, yoga pants, shorts, etc.).
How do I become a Yoga Teacher?
Mello Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance. We offer Teacher Training 200-hour certification programs once a year and have that on the Teacher Training tab above. Learn more HERE.
